The Goals of Knox Children's Ministry

To help children experience the love of Christ by providing opportunities for them to:

  • learn and apply faith stories

  • participate in worship

  • contribute to our church and its work in meaningful and creative ways

  • grow as inclusive, fair, happy, and peaceful children of God.

VBS July 15 - 19 2024

Surrounded by water, trees, and rolling hills, Camp Firelight is the perfect location for every Camper’s favorite summer activities! Through Bible stories, the children will learn about people in the Bible who experienced the gift of a trusting relationship with God. In addition, they will learn to trust that God will go with them, lead the way, share wisdom, to give them peace, and spark joy as they celebrate the good news of Jesus in their own lives and the lives of others. They will also learn ways they can connect with and put their trust in God whenever they are afraid, challenged, or called to do God’s work in the world and share the Good News of God’s love through Jesus Christ.

Our Missionary Money

Our Sunday School sponsors a child through World Vision Canada. Our current sponsor child lives in Nicaragua. If you would like to a donation towards our sponsor child, please fill in the mission part of your Church School Envelope!

The Presbyterian Church policy makes it essential that we have registration forms filled in for all members of Knox Church School. If you are new to Knox, please download and fill out the form on this page or pick one up from the main church office. For the safety of all children at Knox, it is very important that the Church School staff knows of any allergies or medical conditions.

Summer Church Services

Please note that there is no Sunday school or Nursery provided during the summer months, but there are activity packages available for the children.

Nursery

The nursery will be open each Sunday for children under the age of 3. It is staffed by parents on a rotational basis. The Nursery has a direct feed from the sanctuary so parents will be able to hear the worship service while supervising the children. The children in this class will need to be signed in and out by the parent or guardian.

Primary Class

The Primary class is intended for children age 3 to those entering SK this school year. The Primary classroom is located upstairs, just down the hall from the Nursery. The Primary day starts with a bible story that is reinforced by a craft, song, or activity. The Primary students will remain in their classroom until a parent or guardian picks them up.

Rotational Model (Grades 1-6)

These classes take place in the basement of the Christian education building. Kids will rotate to a different “station” each week to experience the lesson in a variety of ways. Stations include: Computer Lab, Cooking, Drama, Puppetry, Movies/ Videos, Games, Crafts & Music.

Grades 7 to 12

The grade 7 to 12 youth classes are held upstairs in the high school room. Note: All students in grade 7 will be presented with their own personal study Bible on Sundae Sunday, during the service. The Bibles are purchased through the Memorial Fund. High school graduates in attendance will receive an engraved pen on Thanksgiving weekend  (Harvest Sunday).
